📌 1. TERMS OF SERVICE (PHPS Mentorship & Publishing Support)

Welcome to People Helping People Succeed (PHPS).
By participating in our mentorship program, submitting creative work, or purchasing publishing services, you agree to the following Terms of Service.

1. Program Purpose

PHPS provides:

  • Writing mentorship

  • Creative feedback

  • Educational guidance

  • Optional publishing support services

PHPS is not a law firm, literary agent, or guaranteed publisher.

2. Eligibility

You must be:

  • 13 or older to apply independently

  • Under 18 with parent/guardian permission

  • Willing to follow PHPS Code of Conduct

  • Able to receive and send email assignments

PHPS reserves the right to accept only 3–5 students per month.

3. Not a Guaranteed Publishing Contract

Mentorship does not guarantee:

  • Publishing acceptance

  • Bookstore distribution

  • Sales results

  • Profit

Publishing decisions depend on manuscript readiness and PHPS quality standards.

4. Ownership of Your Work

You retain 100% ownership of any manuscript, story, characters, music, or creative content you submit.

PHPS does not claim rights unless a separate publishing agreement is signed.

5. Payment & Services

Publishing support fees include:

  • Editing, feedback, formatting

  • ISBN setup

  • Cover template design

  • Upload assistance

Fees are for labor and time, not outcomes.

7. Communication

All mentorship communication occurs via:

No personal texting, personal social media messages, or off-platform communication is permitted for safety.

8. Creative Content Restrictions

PHPS cannot accept:

  • Hateful, violent, or abusive content

  • Explicit sexual content involving minors

  • Plagiarism

  • AI-generated content submitted as original (unless disclosed)

9. Removal from Program

PHPS may remove any student who:

  • Harasses staff

  • Violates safety rules

  • Submits inappropriate content

  • Repeatedly misses assignments

Refunds follow the established policy.

PHPS provides educational guidance, not financial advice, legal advice, or guaranteed publication/success.

11. Agreement

By participating in PHPS, you acknowledge you have read and agree to these Terms of Service.

📌 2. REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

Last updated: 2025

PHPS aims to keep costs low while ensuring fair compensation for time, labor, and third-party services.

1. Refund Eligibility

Refunds are available only under these conditions:

A. Before Work Begins

  • 100% refund if requested before PHPS begins reviewing or editing your manuscript.

B. After Work Has Begun

Because mentorship and publishing support involve labor and hours of work:

  • 0–50% refund depending on progress

  • If editing or layout has already begun, refunds are limited

C. Non-Refundable Services

The following fees are non-refundable, because they require immediate third-party cost:

  • ISBN purchase

  • Distribution upload fees

  • Cover design already started

  • Completed editing work

2. Cancellation

You may cancel your mentorship or publishing request at any time by emailing:

3. PHPS Cancellation Rights

PHPS may cancel participation for:

  • Unsafe behavior

  • Harassment

  • Policy violations

  • Inappropriate submissions

Refunds will be determined based on work completed.

4. Delivery of Work

Manuscripts will not be released or sent until:

  • All required fees are paid

  • Editing or formatting work is complete

3. CODE OF CONDUCT (STUDENT WRITERS)

PHPS is a creativity-safe environment.
All students must agree to the following:

1. Respect & Professionalism

  • Be respectful to mentors and other students

  • No harassment, discrimination, or harmful behavior

2. Safe Communication

  • No personal communication outside email

  • No sharing of sensitive personal information

  • No inappropriate or graphic content involving minors

3. Creative Integrity

  • No plagiarism

  • Credit all co-authors or collaborators

  • Be honest about AI tools used

4. Participation

  • Complete assignments on time when possible

  • Ask questions

  • Communicate respectfully if you need more time

5. Content Guidelines

Allowed:
✔ Fiction
✔ Poetry
✔ Personal stories
✔ Music or lyrics
✔ Fantasy, sci-fi, romance (age-appropriate)

Not Allowed:
❌ Graphic sexual content involving minors
❌ Hate speech
❌ Violent threats
❌ Illegal activities
❌ Defamation

6. Program Dismissal

Breaking these rules may result in:

  • Warning

  • Temporary pause

  • Removal from program

Refunds follow the main Refund Policy.
